Your hosts - Bre & Graham

Welcome to our home! We are Bre & Graham, and we live in the main house called Pentre Mawr Country House which has been in Graham’s family for the past 400 years. We have been welcoming guests from all over the world for over 20 years, so you can see we love meeting people! As we our huge animal lovers, you might bump into our Shetland ponies or one of our three collies who might want to say hello…..We are all a friendly bunch! Today just feels like the first day of opening, super excited and pleased you have chosen us for your break away and we hope you have a wonderful and memorable stay. We will come and say hi once you’ve settled in but if you need anything in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact us

BOMA

During your stay you’re welcome to use the communal BBQ area which we call our Boma. There is a gas grill as well as an outdoor kitchen. The fire pit is there for all our guests to use (we provide wood and firelighters) and hopefully you get to meet like-minded people who’ve chosen to stay at Pentre Mawr. Either side of the carpark loos there are stores, one with a freezer with ice and other essentials and other for rubbish.

Pentre Walks

Walk to the river

Out of the gate and turn right, at the crossroads turn right on to the lane and walk down the lane till you come to a gate. Go through the gate and walk around 100 metres to an opening on the left. Go through and follow the path to the gate at the bottom. Down to the next gate and once through walk along the hedge to the left and down the gate at the river. There’s a little beach area where the dogs can swim. If the cattle are in the fields, please do not go through as they’re young and may not be okay with the dogs.

Walk to the woods

Out of the gate and turn left. Down the lane till you see a gate on your right with a little stream running by. Go thought the gate and follow the steam till you see the woods over to your left. There’s gate with a padlock. 1805.

The Front Park

Just off the Haha the front park is great for a short walk and where your dog can run off the lead. Please made sure to pick up any little messages as we harvest the hay for our Shetlands.

Please ask Bre or Graham for an Ordinance Survey map of the local area.

Clwydian Range

If you look out of your accommodation, you should be able to see the beautiful range in front of you! The Range forms the north-western part of the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
For more information about walks please click here Clwydian Walks
We’re more than happy to offer lifts to the walks if we’re around.
